Amritsar
Arrive in Amritsar by Flight. Meeting & assistance upon arrival at Amritsar International airport and transfer to the hotel.
Amritsar, as the name suggests, is rightfully a pool of nectar. Located in the state of Punjab, Amritsar is one of the most important pilgrimage centers especially for the Sikhs in the country. The city is characterized by some of the must visit religious, historical as well as contemporary sites of importance. The Golden Temple, where Sikhs from all over the world come to pay their reverence to Guru Granth Sahib and take a dip in the Amrit Saras Kund (Pool of Immortality) for spiritual purification is the major landmark of the place.

AM: sightseeing Holy city of Amritsar – city of Golden Temple & Jallian Walla Bagh
The Golden Temple, visit the famous Golden temple which is scared to the Sikh nation, here we will find time to tune into the amazing spiritual centre and feel the power that inspires the Sikh people worldwide. We continue our city tour and visit the Jallian Walla Bagh – Martyrs’ Memorial built in the shape of eternal flame of liberty is situated on the outskirts of Golden Temple. Here about 1500 and 2000 persons who were attending a peaceful meeting during the freedom movement fell under the bullets of the British General Dyer on 13 April 1919 and the city of Amritsar. A memorial and Garden have been created here as a national monument
Evening visit Wagah Border.
Visit Wagah Border: Literally defining the Indo-Pakistan border, Wagah is 28 kms from the main town of Amritsar.
Overnight stay at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel.
AM drive to Jammu 210 kms/ approx 05hrs drive.
On arrival check-in.
PM Visit of Temple & Bazar.
City tour of Jammu, visit Raghunath Temple– Raghunath Temple is situated in the heart of the city and surrounded by a group of other temples
Overnight stay at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel.
AM at leisure. In time leave for Airport to board flight for Srinagar.
On arrival at Srinagar meeting & assistance upon arrival at airport and transfer to Deluxe Houseboat.
Hot lunch at Houseboat and afternoon tour of world famous Mughal Gardens visiting the Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love), Shikara ride on The Dal Lake to enjoy the beauty that God has graced this city with which is often compared to Venice. You will get a interesting view around the Lake. In the evening return back to Houseboat.
Dinner & Overnight stay at House Boat.
Breakfast at House Boat.
Drive to Gulmarg (55 kms) and full day tour of Gulmarg, which is one of the most beautiful summer resorts in the valley. It is also popular for its golf course (in summer), the highest in the world and skiing during the winter season. Enjoy the splendor of nature and the snowy mountains. In the evening return to Houseboat. Dinner and Overnight stay at Houseboat.
Breakfast at House Boat.
Leave in the morning and drive to Kargil (205 kms), road passes through the panoramic village, reach Sonmarg (2740 Mtrs) Enroute lunch at local restaurant in Sonmarg. After Sonmarg most rough road and wet Zojila pass 3527 Mtrs (Gateway of Ladakh). Continue drive towards Drass (The second coldest inhibited place in the world) we stop here for passport check. Another two and half hours drive will take us to Kargil (2710 Mtrs) which has got its importance after opening of Ladakh for tourists in 1974. On arrival Kargil, check-in at hotel.Overnight stay at hotel.

| Leave in the morning full day drive to Alchi (180 kms), today we have to ascend three passes. The day will be tiring. On the way visit Mulbekh rock cut statue and Lamayuru Monastery. We have to cross the highest pass (Fotula 13749 ft.) on Srinagar Leh route. At lunch time we will be at Lamayuru oldest Monastery. continue drive to next village Nimu a view of Zanskar River following into Indus. Finally we reach Alchi. |
| The Lamayuru “Yungdrung” Gompa is remarkably built on a rock, around 125kms. west of Leh, on the Leh Srinagar highway. Lamayuru belongs to the Drigunpa order of Tibetan Buddhism. The history of the monastery begins with the visit of Arahat Nimagung to this place, when there was merely a lake here. It is said that Arahat made a prophecy that “a monastery will come up at this spot” and he made offerings (prayer with grains of corn) to the Nagaserpent spirits. The corns mixed with the earth and formed in the shape of Swastika (Yungdrung), later it came to be known as Yungdrung Monastery |
| Alchi is regarded as the jewel among Ladakh’s monastic foundations. As a place of active worship, it was abandoned centuries ago. But it has been most lovingly maintained by the monks of Likir, the nearest functioning monastery. The monastery comprises of five temples, all of them stocking exquisite paintings and images. The murals here date back to the 11th and 12th centuries. According to art critics, some of the images are reminiscent of the paintings of the Ajanta Caves. 60 kms ahead of Alchi is located Lamayuru Monastery |

After a leisure breakfast at around 9:00 am, proceed to visit the famous monasteries on the Indus Valley. Visit the large stupa & among the highest bronze statue of Buddha at Shey Palace, followed by the most beautiful statue of Maitreya Buddha at Thiksey Monastery, the largest monastery of Hemis and followed by visit to Royal Stok Palace. |
| Thiksey Gompa, located around 17 kms south of Leh, is one of the most beautiful of all the Monasteries in Ladakh. The Gonpa was first built at Stakmo by Sherab Zangpo. Later the nephew of Sherab Zangpo, Paldan Sherab, founded the Thiskey Gonpa on a hilltop to the north of Indus River. The Thiskey festival (Thiskey Gustor) is held in the month of October- November. |
| Hemis Monastery, is around 45 km. south of Leh, it is the wealthiest, best known and biggest gompa in Ladakh. It has the largest Thanka, which is unfurled once in 12 years (next in 2004). Hemis was built in 1630 during the reign of Sengge Namgyal, an illustrious rulers in Ladakh. It flourished under the Namgyal dynasty for the royalty favoured for Drugkpa Sect, which managed the monastery. |
| Continue sightseeing with visit to Shey, located around 15kms south of Leh was the seat of power of the first king of Ladakh, King Deldan Namgyal built Shey Palace in the beginning of the 17th century AD. The main image in the monastery is the three-storey statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, made of copper guilt, which was made by Deldan Namgyal in the memory of his father Singay Namgyal….Infront of Shey Palace is located the Ladakhi residence of His Holiness Dalai Lama. |
