Day 01 (Mon): ARRIVAL KOLKATA - BAGDOGRA – JAYGAON - PHUNTSOLING

Arriving in Kolkata, you do immigration procedures – move to domestic airport & have a snack to rest for connecting flight to BAGDOGRA – INDIA bordering Bhutan. 

Go to Bagdogra – a town in the Darjeeling district in West Bengal, India, surrounded by tea gardens. Bagdogra International Airport connects to major Indian cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata & Chennai, in addition Bagdogra has a modern railway station. You depart to the border city JAIGAON adjacent to Bhutan and entering Bhutan at the border city of Phuntsoling with Guide. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Our first stop is the breathe taking Uluwatu Temple, perched on a stunning cliff overlooking the ocean. The views during sunset are absolutely mesmerizing, so don’t forget to click some photos. After this, we’ll going to catch the captivating Kecak Balinese traditional dance performance right next to the temple. It’s a lively showcase of Bali’s rich culture, with talented performers telling stories through song and dance. Back to Hotel and Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 (Tue): JAYGAON - PHUNTSHOLIN - PARO - BHUTAN COUNTRY

Breakfast at the hotel, Drive to Paro city (approx. 4:30 hrs). The journey from Phuentsholing – Paro is a journey of picturesque natural scenery.
Arrive in Paro, check in hotel.
PARO :-The beautiful Paro Valley encapsulates a rich culture, scenic beauty and hundreds of myths and legends. Home to many of Bhutan’s oldest temples and monasteries, Paro is also one of the most fertile valleys in the Kingdom producing much of the famous local red rice from the terraced fields.

Afternoon Visit:-
– National Museum
– The country’s only international airport.
– Mount Chomolhari (7,314m) reigns in a white halo at the northern end of the valley and its glacial water flows through deep gorges to form Pa Chhu (the Paro River).
– Visit Ta Dzong, which is now the National Museum. The extensive collection includes ancient thangkha paintings, textiles, weapons & armor, household items and a wide variety of natural and historical artifacts.
– Visit Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong), which means (“fortress of treasures”), which has a long and fascinating history. Along the wooden galleries along the courtyard are exquisite murals illustrating Buddhist legends such as the four friends, the old man of long life, the wheel of life, scenes from Milarepa’s life, the Mountain. Sumeru and Cosmic Mandala.

Day 03 (Wed): TIGER NEST - THIMPHU (CAPITAL)

 Breakfast at the hotel, check out and depart for Tiger Nest – a monastery, also known as Paro Taktsang, the most famous monastery in the whole kingdom of Bhutan. Paro Taktsang is located on the edge of a steep cliff 900m above the bottom of the Paro valley. Legend says that Guru Rinpoche came here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery and hence it was called ‘Tiger’s Nest’. This site has been recognized as the holiest and was visited by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646 and is now visited by all Bhutanese at least once in their lifetime.

The group moves to Taktsang stop and walks to the monastery about 5km (or can choose to hire a horse to bring up). Arriving at the stop, you will rest and be served free tea and coffee, watching the panoramic view of the craggy Tiger Nest monastery from afar. Guests who are not healthy can stop here to rest.

 At the meeting time, the group will return to the lunch stop – Down the mountain to gather at the rendezvous point to depart for Thimphu city to check in to the hotel. Thimphu is the capital of Bhutan and a center of government, religion and commerce, Thimphu is a unique city with an unusual blend of modern developments alongside ancient traditions.

Evening visit Trashi chho dzong, ‘fortress of glorious religion’. It is the center of government and religion, the seat of the monarch’s throne room and the seat of Je Khenpo – Built in 1641 by the political and religious unifier of Bhutan, Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, it was built in 1641. rebuilt in the 1960s in traditional Bhutanese style,

The group is free to explore Thimphu city and the night market area. Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.

Day 04 (Thu): THIMPHU – DOCHULA – PHUENTSHOLING – JAIGAON

Breakfast, check out and depart for sightseeing

– Chorten National Monument, a large white structure with a golden spire. It is located near downtown Thimphu and is one of its most iconic monuments. It is the best place to interact with the locals, who gather in large numbers to circumambulate the tower, spin the large red prayer wheels and pray at a small shrine inside the gate. The paintings and statues inside the monument provide an insight into Buddhist philosophy.
– Visit Dordenma Buddha Statue, located on top of a hill in Kuenselphodrang Nature Park. The statue that fulfills an ancient prophecy dating back to the 8th century AD was discovered by Terton Pema Lingpa (Religious Treasure Discoverer) and is said to emit an aura of peace and happiness.

– Head to Dochu-la Pass (3,088m/10,130 ft) to zoom in and admire the chorten, mani wall and prayer flag adorning the highest point on the road. If the sky is clear, the following peaks can be seen from this pass (from left to right): Masagang (7,158m), Tsendagang (6,960m), Terigang (7,060m), Jejegangphugang (7,158m), Kangphugang ( 7,170m), Zongphugang (7,060 m), Table Mountain dominates the isolated Lunana region – finally Gangkar puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan at 7,570 m.

– Visit 108 chorten or stupa called Druk Wangyal Chortens which was built by Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk, the oldest Queen Mother. These chorten are built in three layers, the first lowest layer has forty-five chorten, the second layer has thirty-six and the top layer has twenty-seven, built around the main chorten.

 Departure back to the border city of Phuentsholing – procedures for exiting Bhutan & entering India, arriving in Jaigaon city and overnight at the hotel.

Day 05 (Fri): JAIGAON - DEPARTURE

Breakfast and check-out procedures depart for the center of Siliguri – The central city of Siliguri of great strategic importance in West Bengal – convenient location, connecting four international borders, ie China, Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan. And also connects the Northeast with the Indian mainland. Located in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, Siliguri is an important center of commerce, education and transportation.
